SiLENSe Version 2026.2 & Version 2026.2 Laser Edition have been released.
- Several new options have been introduced to predict the modulation bandwidth of an LED chip in visible light communication (VLC) applications. For each bias, the software computes the capacitance of the structure and differential series resistance, while differential lifetimes were already available in previous versions. More detailed model for estimating the series resistance of the chip is provided. Eventually, the software computes a frequency-dependent normalized response function of the LED chip and computes modulation bandwidth (f3dB) frequency where this function drops two times (3dB) from its initial value at zero frequency. f3dB frequency is presented in LED Results window, while parameters for estimation of chip series resistance and plots of frequency-dependent normalized response function are in “I-V characteristics” window which can be opened from “LED Results” window.
- Peak gain value and respective wavelength are indicated in “LED Results” table. These data allow customer to plot peak gain value as a function of the current density or 2D carrier concentration in the active region.
- Range of axes in all plots with simulation results can be adjusted with direct input of minimum and maximum values. One needs do right mouse click on the plot and choose “Chart Settings” item in the popup menu. This menu also allows to restore full range for all axes or save chart as a picture.
